Thanksgiving Mantel

I put away all the Halloween and got started on Thanksgiving.  I decided to keep the barn door on the mantel for now, I felt like it was working.  This first picture actually gives a good picture of the family room.

I decided to put a little bit of a “foodies” angle to the display and add the pewter serving and eating pieces I picked up recently at auction.  What do you think of first for Thanksgiving?  I know, I know, we think about what we are thankful for. After that, then you think of FOOD!  Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and leftovers!

I made the wreath with basically a basket and hot glued in the dried hydrangeas with a hot glue gun.  Then I just tied in the spoons with twine.

I added some really neat looking salt and pepper shakers and small julep like cups and a pitcher.

These two items I picked up at The Christmas Tree Shop yesterday.  They didn’t look so great when I got them, chipped, weird colors, strange ribbon.  A little paint and some twine, and they are all fixed!

It is still a bit till Thanksgiving, but I hope you all have a great one.
